Trail Description
About this trail
This loop is well marked and the fine people of COMBO deserve the credit for a wonderful technical challenge. It is clear that some of the MTB riders in this area take their trail riding seriously. This is a narrow singletrack with technical sections throughout. Not a sleeper, since most of the track is on the side slope and the dirt is fast and loose.
The trail also features some sweet man made obstacles and bridges. Not for the newbie but a confident rider should attempt these obstacles with due respect of course. The trail is relatively flat with little climbing and little downhills, although the track was nice and fast in spots. COMBO deserves much Kudos on this wonderful track. Please do not ride this or Phase I when the trail is closed due to weather. You can meet the folks at combo at : www.mtbohio.org ..... Oh ... why a 9 and not a 10? well ... a hill or 2 would be nicer ... this is one of the best in Ohio!

Review: This trail is not for the beginner. It has it fair share of steap inclines and root systems along with bridges and some obstacles. The trail is very good at draining after rain.

Review: My personal favorite trail in Columbus. As a beginner, it has everything I need to hone my skills! It's fast at times, with plenty of flow, yet has plenty of man-made technical sections, roots, and some small climbs. While some of the really technical sections may be daunting for beginners (they are for me), they're all very walkable, and I encourage you to give them a shot once you're comfortable! You might just surprise yourself. Only con is that it is sometimes slow to dry after a good rain, but otherwise, it's a fantastic, well balanced trail. Thanks COMBO!

Review: The combination of naturally formed and man made tech was amazing! Don't be fooled by the fact that this trail is near Columbus, it is truly a challenging surprise for intermediate to experienced riders. The time and effort put in by COMBA (or at least I believe that's who maintains it...) should be applauded! Anyone who has something negative to say about this trail is simply a spoiled only child or over privileged rich @$$! I think as a community we should appreciate these types of trails especially when some one is taking their own time and working very hard to create and maintain places for the rest of us to ride. Bottom line we are a community, we look out for each other, and I appreciate and truly loved this trail!

Review: Being a downhill rider and stuck in Ohio, I decided to try out some cross country on Phase 2 at Alum Creek. It helped take some of the edge off with a couple of pretty cool bridges, small drops, and a beautiful wooden berm (although it's rooty on the in-run to the bank so don't expect to pick up to many G's). It's a fairly flat trail with some tight switch backs and occasional rooty sections that'll slow you down, however there is a couple tiny flowy sections where you can pick up some speed and get a small adrenaline fix. Overall beautifully constructed and maintained by COMBO, a lot of fun, a great cardio workout and if you're near it I would highly recommend. If you're a downhill rider I would come here to condition, take the first lap moderate speed to feel it out, and if after the first 6 miles you're not completely exhausted blast your second lap and try to beat your time. I would love to see this trail accumulate even more obstacles and incorporate banked turns where u can pick up and maintain a lot of speed. Also HELPFUL TIP: if you're riding around the parking lot confused as to where the trail head is...cross the street, can't miss it.

Review: Very fun, flat ride. Fast ride with plenty of turns and roots to contend with. Really flat so it gets muddy in spots.

Review: Trails were very fun. I've been looking for a place to ride that isn't too far away from me. Driving an hour and 20 minutes to get here was making me hold high expectations for the trails and they over achieved. Terrain is very well maintained. The wood features, bridges, and bank turn were very fun to ride

Review: Great trail, fast and has some challenging spots. Went to P2 today, 2 major safety concern repairs need to be made immediately. One bridge is badly broken, but has a temporary plank close by. The 2nd is a large log-over, the ascending logs came out from underneath me and I crashed into the downed tree as a result. Typically well maintained trail, all other obstacles were in safe order.
