About this trail
There is something for everyone at the Duke Forest. Most of the trails are frequently occupied by casual bikers, some extreme bikers, joggers and labrador retrievers. There are some singletrack which is restricted to foot traffic only. Otherwise, there are probably 15+ miles of trails to challenge your speed and biking skills.

Review: Gravel roads, some hills. Unfortunately many of the roads are dead ends and connectivity is an issue. Still, fun to explore.

Review: The Duke Forest is part of a large network of trail systems in the Durham area.


You can start at dozens of locations, mostly on West Cornwallis Rd, Mt Sinia Rd,


and Erwin Rd. You can connect a good amount of fireroads and single track trails


using the local paved roads.

Review: Even with the numerous joggers, walkers, and other sundry pedestrian traffic, the trails did not feel congested or crowded. There are a few hills on which it is possible to pick up a fair amount of speed; however, most intermediate- and advanced-level riders will find these trails somewhat less than challenging.

Review: An okay trail that gets boring all to fast. An easy trail, with occaisonal hard parts. Occaisonal LARGE hills

Review: All single track is strickly off limits. Because of bikers useing these trails Duke university has sold the Dunn Rd Trails to land developers. This should send a very loud message but I'll bet there will be some jerk out there tommorow trying to bust his butt on these trails.

Similar Trail: Go to the Chapel Hilll Hill School you'll love it.
