Review: I am a beginner, working out at CCC. Gave this trail a try. It was difficult to find the Trail Head, I kinda popped into what looked like a auto drive and found the trail.

Good climbs, challenging for me as a beginner. Tough because the climbs were pretty frequent at times, with little to no way to gain momentum. In short, you need to know your gears well to pull yourself up the hills, a skill I clearly lack.

There was another side by the creek that was actually really fun / less challenging for me.

And yes, definitely lots of roots.

I would say this is a little overwhelming for a newb. If you aren't comfortable with gears, and getting into the right gear before you need to on a steep climb, then this could be frustrating for you. Better to check out CCC and work on those hills.

Review: Did the GCC trails today. Glad to say they are back to normal, and all the trees that were down are all out of the way, after last years terrible storm. Didn't think they were ever going to be reopening these trails after I saw the devastation from last years storm, there were so many trees down, and right across the trails. Kudos to all of those who helped clear all the trees from the trails.

Review: My son and I took to the trail and had a great time. The leaves do make some spots a little difficult to see this time of year (November) but it was a nice beginner/intermediate trail. There are plenty of side trails to get some better roots or hills but still reasonable for us since we are new to the sport.

Note, watch for some folks walking their dogs on the trails

Review: Some nice sections... Lots of down trees I'm guessing from the storms we had this summer. Some areas clear, many still covered. Looks like bull dozers are clearing sections? Not sure what's up here... Pretty noisy since it is up against RT 55 also.

Review: First time here. As others mentioned, lots of roots, and some trees blocking a few sections of trail.

Nice mix of really twisty sections and longer straights. A few nice downhills. Some good climbs for a workout.

Like nopardaid mentions below in his review, the teeter-totter feature is finicky. My first time on one. Worked the first three times I went over it, fourth time I ate it hard when the edge of the teeter section got caught under the approach ramp.

Some sections of trail are hard to identify.

Review: What an absolutely fun system. Very roller coasterish, not really any downhill but it rides quick, challenging and lots of length. Bravo to JORBA for maintaining this. There are several nice wooden bridges and crossovers. There is a teeter totter on the backside but make sure you check it before you ride it, it got stuck under the approach platform, never came down and I went flying. I also noticed some farming wire coming right across the track at shin height. Once again I had trouble finding exactly where the trail heads are. Park at GCC and ride towards parking lot f, once you see the entry road that leads to lot f look right there for a cut in to the woods. Lower your back tire pressure a bit, moist roots made it really sketchy. You should definitely ride this!

Review: First time here and had a LOT of fun on this trail. Lots of roots as everyone has said, and some trees down today blocking a few trails. But they were right on top of it and I saw some crews clearing the downed trees while I was out there. Would definitely go back!

Review: I've been to GCC a few times. Overall, it is really nice. It doesn't drain well at all, which can be frustrating. Very rooty in some sections. Also, very tight roller coaster sections....almost to tight. Personally, not my favorite place. Not bad though.

Review: I also am just getting back into MTB after a ten plus year absence and decided to bike here the other day and try out my new bike on the trails. Upon arrival I started into the trails right by the security building at the front of campus and rode back into the woods, I was pretty disappointed to find many wide trails with freshly laid wood chips and not a whole lot going on. I quickly rode a loop and came back out and stumbled upon a posted map at the trail head. I sat there and studied it a bit and then headed back into the woods, this time making a few different turns towards the trails leading to rt 55. This time the outcome was better, the trails weren't marked really well but I still managed to ride for a while without back tracking on the same trails, there were some bridges, man made log climbs and jumps, and also a man made teter toter. There was a million and one roots as other reviews posted which at times seemed as though it could shake a tooth loose, some decent climbs and few fast hill rides down. Over all a good time, not the same as the Connecticut riding I'm used to over all a good maiden voyage on my new bike. Being as its close to home, I will ride and explore these trails more. If anyone gets the chance to ride Connecticut, check out the Trumbull trail! It's killer, so much to do, you can ride all day and never hit the same trail twice. If its a hot day, there is a section I used to jump in the river to cool off. Great ride!!!
