Trail Description
About this trail
The first 3.5 miles is all uphill. Look Prairie Road ends at the top where it intersects with Peavine Ridge Road. Go Left on Peavine for another 3.7 miles until the road splits in two directions. At the split go left down Thornton Road. This is the best part of the whole ride, 5.2 miles all downhill on a narrow singletrack through redwoods and grassy meadows.

Review: The uphill part was not so fun. There is a lot of grass and the trail is very rocky and loose. Had to hop off a few times. Once up on the ridge, the ride gets better and you can enjoy riding through the majestic redwood forest. The absolute best part is Thronton rd, which is the 5.2 mile single track decent.

Similar Trail: Though not on this website, you should check out Prairie Creek State Park (Northern Humboldt, close to Orick, Ca). Ossagon trail is a very fun downhill single track.

Review: This trail was a lot of fun. The uphill is challenging for a beginner and the downhill fast and thrilling without being technical.
