Trail Description
About this trail
Very short loop beside the lake. The right side is nice trail while the left side beside the lake
(Lakeshore Trail) is VERY rooty. Nice views of the lake and super close to town. Flat trails will test
your technical abilities as you ride the loop counter-clockwise.

Review: I've never really liked this trail. When I've ridden here, a lot of the trail is just unpassable, as other reviewers note. Maybe a big fat tire bike would work.

Review: Not a whole lotta excitement on this trail but it's scenic and a nice way to catch glimpses of the lake. Rooty, wide, and flat.

Review: This trail network, although short, is more deserving of a higher rating. The Lakeshore Trail is brutal, but makeable. I cleared it once, on a bone-dry day, after eating all my Wheaties, the stars and planets where all aligned, and I just made good with my girlfriend. Who, by the way, has cleared it many more times than me! Scenery is the best I have ever seen on a mountain bike trail. Whiteface looms in the background. Lucky to have lived in Lake Placid for 3 years and to be able to call this ride my after work loop. Glad I know there are way better trails than this in and around Placid. Hah!

Review: The roots on the Lakeshore trail make it nearly impossible to ride. I suppose you could ride it, but you'd be so busy concentrating on the mess of roots two feet in front of you that you'll miss the nice views of Lake Placid. Plus there's a lot of hiking traffic so expect to do these trails at a pretty slow pace.
