Trail Description
About this trail
This is the truest XC trail in Florida, lots of distance with continuous gradual up and down grades. The whole trail is fine for anyone with just a little experience from a technical standpoint, when the trail describes beginner, intermediate, or difficult it is referring to the lungs you need to complete the hills. Very enjoyable. The trail is all network and small loops so you can easily ride 3 miles or 30 miles as your heart desires. Park is gorgeous in the trails except a little sun exposure on Tug Nut.

Review: Awesome trails that are well marked. Lots of hill climbing on some trails. Feels like you are in the mountains on tug nut. Beautiful scenery.

Review: Great trail to ride. not much Hike a bike at all, rode in December so in the Florida heat of July it may be different. also, it was very dry conditions. A little difficult to navigate but it is also a great place to get lost, there are utility line trails and double-tracks that can lead you back out quickly if plans change. I can highly recommend for all levels. Parking is 4 dollars at the entrance per car or 2 dollars if you arrive on bike or walk in.

Review: This place is amazing and way under-rated. I drove up to northern central Florida to ride Ocala, after 1 day at both Santos and Vortex, I decided to look for something else and found this.

I'm very happy I took a chance with it, now to be fair, if you're looking for highly technical terrain, this is not for you, most of the terrain here just flows, which is precisely what I liked so much, its odd to find such long flowy down and uphills in FL. What so great about it is how different it is from most highly recognized trails in FL (Ocala, Alafia, etc).

Admittedly, its complicated to navigate as the network is huge and full of loops, but you're never really lost if you carry a map with you. If you find yourself riding in the open, you made a wrong turn, all the good stuff is in the woods.

From a non mtb perspective, I saw a lot of wildlife on the trails, spent two hours there and spotted numerous deer

Similar Trail: Balm Boyette (With less technical stuff)

Review: I was originally skeptical based on reviews and YouTube videos. I only got to ride about 10 miles of trails. A very cool place. Everything from basic flat to longer climbs, switch backs, downhills. Probably best to plan a day with a break in the middle to ride all of it. The one downside some of it is not marked well.

Review: I just spent 3 days of spring break here exploring these trails. I'm a weekend mountain biker who is not very technical or aggressive, but I could get aggressive on these trails. They are not too technical, and there are sections where you can get up some speed and they flow well. Much fun was had exploring these trails. My favorite section was Hammock Hub.

Review: Quite a drive from Pinellas county but worth the drive if you are looking for a nice well-marked network. Grass meadow, pine lined single track and a few tight spots to keep you looking ahead!

Review: Like the description says this is a true XC trail. My first time here, although there trails are quite wide the actual paths are narrow. Quite slippy this time of year with all the leaves and needles. Pretty bumpy ride for the most part, some due to exposed roots and some texture, as opposed to the very smooth xc trails of santos. Nice elevation changes make for great conditioning. Saw multiple doe on this ride, big ones. Kind of prehistoric in the farthest trails from the TH. Imagine even more beautiful when everything is green. Almost zero sand, quite hard packed.

Review: I love this place !! I travel 95 miles to ride here as often as I can from Jacksonville, I get plenty of hard riding and am usually spent after a day here. not technical but plenty of up and down and fast flowing singletrack. enough trail here to always change up my route. Awesome!!!!!!!

Review: Hey everyone. I am a relative newbie but just want to get some more current info out there. First the map generated from this app takes you to a golf course community. Enter 13201 Progress blvd. alachua fla in your gps and it will take you to the trail head. The trails are not bad. There are some roots but no logs or jumps that I found. I only did about 6 miles though and will try to head back in a couple days. If you take the first left as you go in, toward the cellon creek trail, it will take you back to the other trails. Peace.

Review: Trails can be ridden by everyone above a beginner. Do not let the black or double black diamond designations scare you. Not much technical stuff and all climbs and descents are gentle, stretched out rides. Plenty of trail markers and "You are here" stylized maps. May not know where you are exactly, but you are never lost. Can probably put in 25-30 miles if you ride each trail in its entirety. Santos and Alafia will get all the raves but these trails should be ridden if you are in the area.
